One of the most dynamic voices in Puerto Rico’s Latin trap scene, Young Miko, premieres her single “Lisa” and video today.

“Lisa” showcases the 24-year-old singer/songwriter’s music-making craftsmanship, barrier-breaking ability and exceptional lyrical skills, as well as her original yet expertly crafted sound.

Young Miko, approaches all of her music with an effortless confidence that is immediately magnetic. On “Lisa,” she takes her laid-back yet powerful vocal flow into an unapologetic confession of weakness for the irresistible women around her, revealing her opposition to limiting herself to a particular style or personality type. Primarily delivered in Spanish, the song combines its captivating flow with an array of sonic details (melancholic piano melodies, strong rhythms, a bombastic chorus of vocals on the last chorus). The result is a catchy anthem that firmly establishes her as an unstoppable new force on the global pop scene.

“I’m very excited about the release of ‘Lisa’ and how the project developed in all its aspects,” Young Miko, who created “Lisa” alongside producer/songwriters J Castle, Mauro, Caleb Calloway and Avila WTF, said in writing. “I hadn’t done in-house releases since my debut project TRAP KITTY and I was already playing new music! I hope you guys can enjoy it like we enjoyed making it,” he added.

Directed and produced by 1K Dojo and filmed in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, the high-energy video for “Lisa” captures an extraordinary day in the life of Young Miko. In a perfect representation of the celebration of all the women mentioned in the song, the video follows Young Miko at a party filled with possible objects of her obsession. Interspersed with various surreal touches (including Young Miko simulating Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa in a painting hanging on the hallway wall), the visual also shows Young Miko in the studio, working her magic and delivering a stunning performance of the song.

Raised in the city of Añasco, Young Miko first began making music in her late teens and soon developed her eclectic sound thanks in part to the influence of her family (her father loved the Beatles and Bob Marley, her mother listened to Spanish-language pop bands like La Oreja de Van Gogh, and her brother introduced her to Missy Elliott, Gwen Stefani and Nas). Shortly after she began sharing her music on SoundCloud, Young Miko released her debut EP, Trap Kitty – a 2022 release that includes her hit single “Riri” and other hits like “Bi” and “Putero.” In addition, her previous work includes “Cuando Te Toca” (a 2023 collaboration with Yandel) and appearing as a featured artist on Hozwal’s hit “Big Booty.”
